Setting up MFA on your Account

WHEN: MFA will be enabled on your account on **Monday 22nd July at 10am. You will NOT be able to perform the instructions or set up MFA until IT Services enables MFA on your account at/after this specified time.

Note: If you know you will be away from a Council Office at this time and will not have access to Council network, please notify us immediately so we can pre-register the authentication details on your behalf. You will then be able to update these details at a later date if required.

Please remember,  if you do not notify us and MFA is enabled on your account without registering authentication details, you will not be able to access council intranet and e-mails or Office 365 via a web browser until you have access to council network and complete the MFA registration process.

As soon as MFA is enabled on your account within a couple of minutes you will be required to provide More information as shown in the web page below when trying to access a service such as the Vine or Office 365 Portal.

You must set at least 2 methods of authentication on your account.

The default method is set to Microsoft Authenticator App. To proceed with this method please click Default Method.

Once you complete registering with the Authenticator App you will then have the ability to choose from the following options:

Should you want use a different method, please click “I want to set up a different method as shown in the below picture, which will provide you with 2 options "Phone" & "Authenticator" app. You must choose one of these methods and register first before the optional methods become available to you.

Additional Information:

From your security info page you can verify details, change default sign in method, add additional or change existing authentication methods, etc ..

Thank you for taking your time to register for MFA. As you are the first group of users we will  appreciate if there is any feedback on the instructions or process.
